A PhotoFriday submission

They look a bit lost.

(auto levels, unsharp mask 140% 0.7 pixel 1 level, crop, resize.)

Don't try this at home! I don't know how a novice can practice this without getting himself burnt.

The original was in colour- with a magenta-ish hue, probably because the camera's auto white balance got confused (indoors, neon lights) . Some color correction turned it into mostly warm yellows. Then I converted it into B&W (multiply G & B channels), which I think gives it a stronger impact.

Taken at Berjaya Times Square last month.

(Photo submitted for Photofriday, Nov 21 theme entitled Gatherings)

The 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac gathered for a festival at the front gate of the temple, ready to greet devotees. Also attending is the Goddess Kuan Yin (seen standing at the far end)

*Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Snake, Dragon, Monkey, Horse, Sheep, Rooster, Dog, Pig
I tweaked around with the template to change the colours and also added commenting facilities.

The title of the blog was also decided as: Non-random Noise

Because I like oxymoronic phrases…heh.

There are probably zillions of photos floating around on the Internet. Unseen, and even if seen but unappreciated, these digital data remain nothing more than random noise residing in the hard disks of the host servers. It is my hope that my photos mean something more than noise. Rising above the din is going to be a very difficult task, I realize.

Non-randomness is the ultimate goal I strive to achieve.

(Heh… pretty profound, eh?)

A new blog, so an appropriate symbolic picture would be a sunrise. But I don't have a photo of one, because I'm a night person and only wake up at 10 when the sun is already high in the sky.

So I guess a sunset will have to do...

This one was taken on the way home from SIC (a race circuit) not too long ago when I was there to watch the MotoGP. I stopped by the road to capture it. You don't get this kind of scenery in the city.

This blog will basically contain photos that I have taken with my camera.
